Then wait a minute.
A layered scent is not finished until it is quiet. What you smell in the first ten seconds is not what anyone else will meet — give it sixty before you leave the room.
The friction shears the top notes off. Press, or simply let it sit.
Unscented balm on the pulse points. Dry skin loses a fragrance hours early.
Fabric holds the top notes and lets the base evaporate. Skin does the opposite.
A closed drawer at room temperature. Not the bathroom window.
